What I have done

This is the background I chose to use for the animation.
I cut out pictures of the characters and put them stood in a order they normally do in some episodes.
I then re-printed out the images with open/closed mouths to make it look like they talk.

Background And Characters

This is the background I am going to be using, as I could not get a good image of the bus stop in South Park, I will be finding a scene for the sound.
This is Eric, one of the four main characters he tries to be funny, but no one seems to like him, and he always come up with stupid ideas.
This is Kenny he lives in a trailer, and he wears his hood all the time and muffles everything he says.
This is Kyle, his best friend is Stan, also he is a jew, and Cartman always bullies him for it.
This is Stan, his best friend is Kyle, his dad sometimes embarrasses him.

South Park Image

This is a image of the characters in South Park and I can just find pictures of these characters and print and cut them out.

Ideas For South Park

These are a few clips from south park episodes.  I may use parts of these for the finished product.

The Original South Park intro by HurricaneDylan

I like this intro as it is the old starting sequence, and old South Park was created with cut out animation

South Park Season 14 Episode 4 -(Full Episode) by marilyn7216

This is a episode just to show what South Park is.

Thursday, 23rd February

In this lesson we have been asked to start finding/making ideas for a stop motion movie.  I am thinking of recreating a part of a South Park episode, or make my own scene, I will be making this with cut out animation.

{note} I am going towards the idea of making my own scene, but with the sounds of a episode of South Park

{Note} 1st March - I am now thinking of making the scene with cut-out animation, but with just the music of south park, and a short scene, or get a scene and use it as a voice over to the scene.

Editing Sound To Movie

We was asked to add music to a 30 second clip , we was given the song, Kung fu fighting by Kurt douglas, we did this by adding the clip and soundtrack to a program called garage band and edited parts of the song with fading.

Example of sound on a animation

This is an example of how sound works in animation, this is a episode of Tom & Jerry.  It works well because when stuff happens the sounds effects and the band that play the music make the animation work well.

My Model Based Animation

This is my example of model based animation, we used plasticine  to make this.

Titles And Credits

I used the program Imovie to create this short animation, I added a title and credits to the animation.  I did this by dragging the animation to the video bar, and then added a title and credits by putting the title box in front of the animation and then credits to the end of the animation.

Model Based Animation

Model based animation, is when you make a model out of lego or plasticine, and there are other things you can use.  The camera you use is horizontal, then to make the animation, with the model and move it model bit by bit to make it look like a animation.

Pixilation Based Animation

Example Of Cel Animation

When someone says the word "cartoon," what we see in our head is usually cel animation. Cartoons today rarely use the pure cel animation of the past, instead employing computers and other technology to help make the process better. There is 25 frames per second in cel animation, they made it by using clear plastic over a piece of paper, which has a drawing on it.

Example Of Pixilation Animation

Graffiti Rotoscope and Pixelation Animation from Matt Ziniel on Vimeo.

Pixilation is a stop motion technique where live actors are used as a frame-by-frame subject in an animated film, to make it look like a animation.

Cut Out Animation

Cutout animation is a technique for producing animations using flat images, props and backgrounds cut from materials such as paper, card or what ever you can find. Cut out animation works by images cut out, and the cut outs moving around to make something happen, to make the brain make it look like a animation. examples of cut out animations are south park.

What We Did Today - 13th Oct 2011

What we did today, in our group with Emily, Jordan, Tim and me, was get the cut out animation recorded, with the program I stop motion, using a magnetic webcam, by getting the cut out of a sandwich we had, which we cut into pieces to from the sandwich, and some other random images and making them fit together, it took about 20 minutes to do, because it was a slow process, as the cut outs could not be moved to fast as it would ruin it, and would not look as good as been moved slowly.

Research for Stop Motion Animation

This is an example of time lapse, I found on Vimeo.

Savannah Timelapse from Nicholas Reichard on Vimeo.

This is the video again, but with title and credits.

I researched stop motion animation in the Primary research method, which is such as personal experience and other people's experience such as videos or interview.

Secondary research is when some one else has already found the information examples are the Internet and books.

A time lapse animation works with a camera in a certain place, such as a webcam, with pictures and when you play the pictures, it looks like a animation.

We got in to groups and tried out stop animation time lapse, and we produced a 20 second animation on a program called I Stop motion, in our group we had Ashleigh, Emily, Jack and me.

This is our 1st try at time lapse animation.
